Kylian Mbappe scored his record 201st goal for Paris Saint-Germain in a 4-2 win against Nantes on Saturday night, becoming the top scorer in the club’s history.
The mercurial forward recently moved level with Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani on 200 PSG goals, and has overtaken him on Les Parisiens’ all-time charts, in the dying embers of their most recent win.
With Nantes running out of steam, Embappé desperately tried to score late on to become the outright record holder. During five minutes of stoppage time, he was fouled by wing-back Timothy Pembley, turning and firing past goalkeeper Alban Lafont in the middle of the penalty area.
mbappe was the first to join psg on an initial loan from Monaco in 2017, eventually making the move permanent for €180m.
He made his debut for the club in a 5–1 victory against Metz, ending his first season with 21 goals in 44 games and leading France to World Cup victory that summer.
After swapping the number 29 shirt for the vacant 7, Mbappe has taken his scoring exploits up several gears. He found the net 33 times in 29 games in the 2018/19 season and scored at least 30 in all competitions in every campaign for PSG, with his lowest tally coming in the COVID-cancelled 2019/20 year.
mbappe They are currently two goals clear at the top of the Ligue 1 scoring charts and have won the division’s Golden Boot in each of the last four seasons.
