In the Mayurbhanj area of Odisha, Draupadi Murmu was born. Her family is from the Rairangpur neighborhood of Baidaposi.
President Murmu was a Santhali by birth. One of the major tribes, Santhals are primarily found in West Bengal and Odisha.
From May 2015 to July 2021, she served as the governor of Jharkhand. She held that role for the first time as a woman.
Shyam Charan Murmu, a banker, was the husband of President Murmu. She is a mother to a girl and two sons. Unfortunately, she lost both her husband and sons within a six-year period.
